We are thrilled to announce that Soldier On! has been chosen, along with the RBL, to be supported by a team who are competing in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge.

‘Row4Victory’ is a team of four men from Yorkshire, one runs a coffee shop, one is a former Royal Marine, one is serving in the RAF and one has recently been medically discharged from The Royal Engineers.

They will be putting their physical and mental strength to the test when they row 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

The event, described as the ‘world’s toughest endurance race’, will see the guys burning off roughly 8,000 calories per day, in all weathers from storms to extreme heat.  They will be operating a ‘two hours on, two hours off’ rowing routine for possibly a month and a half.  Their hands and bottoms will be blistered, and they will live off ration packs and desalinated sea water, which they may have to pump manually.  No wonder fewer people have achieved this crossing than have climbed Mount Everest or travelled into space!

The team are raising funds for two charities, The Royal British Legion and Soldier On! Duncan from North Yorkshire said,

“It is an honour to introduce Soldier On! as our second charitable cause after they have given me so much help with my move to civilian life following a medical discharge”.

They are looking to secure sponsors who will feature prominently in promotional materials as well as in presentations and fundraising activities.  Current supporters can be seen in the below photograph and the team will be out and about raising awareness in town centres and events such as The Great Yorkshire Show.

Ways to support include: Becoming a Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsor – Please email info@row4victory.com for information – Your logo can feature prominently at events, on the boat, and in marketing/press materials.
